WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?

We collect PII referred to as “personal identifiable information”, which you voluntarily provide.

 At the time that you contract with us to provide you with our services, we may obtain from you your first and last name, gender, date of birth, contact numbers, mailing and email address and a copy of your NIB, passport or driver’s license.

 When you create an account or login to your account on our website, mobile applications or participate in any in-store promotion, you may be required to provide your PII. You will also be required to create a username, and password. (For the avoidance of doubt, we do not collect your password which is known only to you) We rely on the information collected to better understand you and improve our service delivery to you. The information collected is voluntarily provided and may be used in order to:

  • Improve your experience with our products, services, mobile applications and digital platforms.
  • Protect your safety through fraud prevention measures.
  • Combine with user testing to determine which products and services are best suited for your needs.

Equipment Information

We gather details about devices on our network, including the type of device you use, device ID, and phone number.

Network Performance

We monitor and test the health and performance of our network. This includes analyzing your use of Products and Services to assess how our network and your device are functioning.

Location Information

Location data is automatically generated when devices, products, and services interact with cell towers and Wi-Fi routers. Location can also be determined through Bluetooth services, network devices, and other technologies, including GPS satellites.

Web Browsing and App Information

We automatically collect various types of information, such as time spent on websites or apps, website and IP addresses, and advertising IDs. This also includes links and ads viewed, videos watched, search terms entered, and items added to online Cable Bahamas shopping carts. We may use pixels, cookies, and similar tools to gather this information. However, we do not decrypt secure information from websites or apps, such as passwords or banking details.

Third-Party Information

We receive information from external sources, marketing mailing lists, and commercially available demographic and geographic data made available through online analytics tools. We may also collect social media info like social media handles, email address associated with your social media account if you reach out to us directly or mention Cable Bahamas.

For example, we or our third-party service providers may compile information including but not limited to information about your visits to our website, digital applications, total calls into our contact center and the average time spent interacting with our platforms.

We may also be required by applicable laws or regulations to disclose your PII or content that you have made available to us when using our services, or other activities that you have carried out using any services or device(s) provided to you by us to law enforcement agencies or on receipt of any warrant, subpoena, court order or lawful direction. We may also disclose your PII in order to enforce our policies, or protect our or others’ rights, property, or safety.

We are required to release or share your PII and information about your account with a credit bureau or reporting agency and may contact such credit bureau or reporting agency to request or obtain a credit reference for you, and unless you tell us otherwise, you give us the right to share your information for this purpose by accepting these terms and conditions. You may always ask us for a copy of all the information that we have stored for you.

How do we keep and protect your information?

The protection and security of your PII is particularly important to us and we have employed a variety of physical, technical and administrative security measures designed to safeguard and protect the confidentiality of the PII you provide to us.

Your PII is stored behind secured and encrypted networks and is only accessible by a limited number of persons with special access rights to such systems, who are legally bound to ensure your information remains confidential. In addition, all sensitive/payment information you provide on our website, mobile application and digital platforms are encrypted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology.

Our website is scanned on a regular basis for security breahes and known vulnerabilities in order to safeguard your privacy while using our website, mobile applications and digital platforms. We use regular Malware Scanning.

All transactions are processed through a gateway provider and are not stored or processed on our servers.

Despite our best efforts, our security systems are not perfect, and our best security measures are not guaranteed to be impenetrable. We cannot guarantee that your use of our website will be protected from all malwares, viruses or cyber threats.
