What is an ALIV eSIM?
An eSIM, or embedded SIM, is a digital SIM card that allows compatible devices to connect to the Aliv network without the need for a physical SIM card. It offers flexibility in managing your mobile plan and device. By using both a Physical SIM and an eSIM, both the phone numbers can make and receive voice calls and send and receive text messages (SMS).
What devices are compatible with eSIMs?
Ensure that your device supports eSIM and is compatible with the Aliv network. To check your eSIM compatibility: Read your device manufacturer's documentation for compatibility information, or;
Dial *#06#. If your device is eSIM-compatible you should be able to view your device’s eSIM unique identification number (EID).
How much does an eSIM cost?
eSIMs cost the same as a physical ALIV sim.
What happens if I am switching to a new device?
If you are switching to a new phone you will need to visit an ALIV store to be issued a new eSIM.
Can I put regular ALIV plans on an eSIM?
Yes, you can.
Can I use an Aliv eSIM at the same time as a physical SIM from another carrier?
Yes, if your device is unlocked you may use an eSIM with a physical SIM from another carrier.
Will my eSIM work while roaming?
Yes, your eSIM is compatible with roaming in most destinations, such as the USA and Canada. If you plan to travel Internationally, it is recommended to use a physical SIM card.
When I upgrade my device, how do I transfer my eSIM to the new phone?
Visit and ALIV store or call 611 for assistance with transferring your eSIM to a new phone.
Can I use an eSIM to have my number on more than one device?
no, you cannot. Like a physical SIM, an eSIM can only be installed on one device.
Can I delete my eSIM?
you can delete your eSIM from your phone through the phone settings, or by resetting your phone to factory settings. This is recommended before selling your phone. In case of accidental deletion, be sure to keep your receipt with the QR code. You may re-scan the code to re-install the eSIM onto the original phone.
Data, however, you may notice reduced speeds.

Activate an eSIM with ALIV
After purchase, Aliv will provide you with an activation QR code or a specific eSIM activation process.
Follow these steps to install your eSIM from a QR code or manually.
Instructions for specific devices
iPhone
1. Open the Camera app and scan your QR code.
2. When the Cellular Plan Detected notification appears, tap it.
3. Tap Continue, at the bottom of the screen.
4. Tap Add Cellular Plan.
5. If you're asked to enter a confirmation code to activate the eSIM, enter the number provided by Aliv
Or
Enter the eSIM information manually if necessary.
1. Go to Settings.
2. Tap either Cellular or Mobile Data.
3. Tap Add Cellular Plan.
4. Tap Enter Details Manually, at the bottom of your iPhone screen.
Samsung Smartphone
You’ll need a Wi-Fi connection on your phone.
1. Open Settings.
2. Select Connections.
3. Select SIM card manager.
4. Select Add eSIM or Add mobile plan
5. Follow the prompts to scan the QR code.
